Dual funded channels are cool because:
- You can open a channel double the size your available capacity
- You instantly get a balanced channel on opening
- You share the channel opening fees
Downsides:
- Both sides need to be active opening the channel roughly at the same time (within an hour)
- You need to use a specialized tool like BOS (Balance of Satoshi)
- You need to be on the same platform (ex. both on LND)
- CLN version is still experimental
