I want to run a lightning node on umbrel on an rpi4, but eventually probably will want to switch to a more secure architecture and maybe stop using Umbrel if I outgrow it’s use case. Can I just spin up another non-Umbrel lightning node on another machine with my backup here at a later date, and what would I need to do now during the setup to ensure I can do that?

This is a great question. I would also follow in similar footsteps for similar reasons. There’s one tiny part of umbrel that is closed source.
