In cases where it is a new install and there is data like an existing partition or previous attempted installation on the drive can also cause the error - in some cases it can be a corrupted or failing storage drive and reformatting the storage drive would be a last resort. We can instead reflash the MicroSD in those circumstances for no data loss and power cycle the device.
