I don’t seem to be able to update my node to v0.5.0. On clicking Install I get the following sequence:
Starting Update…
Downloading Umbrel v0.5.0…
Backing up…
Updating Umbrel OS…
Then with the progress indicator at only about 25% complete, I briefly see an “Update successful” message popup and am then returned to the dashboard/settings screen. But my node is still running v0.4.18.
Anyone experiencing similar issues?
Yeah, i’m having a similar issues. From what I can see in the logs this line:
Err:6 https://ookla.bintray.com/debian generic Release
Could not handshake: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
E: The repository 'https://ookla.bintray.com/debian generic Release' no longer has a Release file.
That seems to prevent the update from finishing
From memory I installed speedtest on my umbrel some time ago so maybe you have a package that is also doing the same.
UPDATE: Can confirm removing that package and the associated repo from the sources (although in my case it was: sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/speedtest.list) allowed the update to continue
Where/how did you find that in your logs? I’ve run the troubleshoot from Umbrel’s settings and am not seeing any errors in the logs it generates.

It might be worth doing a search for “update” and seeing if you find anything around there. There are a few scripts that run during the process

Resolved by flashing the new OS on my SD.
Glad you got it sorted. I think some underlying changes to the umbrelOS made this a bit of a tricky update for some people
